Read moreWe are a passionate and curious team of experimentalists driven by a profound fascination with the complex molecular dynamics governing the infection process. Our work revolves around the understanding of the pathogenic processess at molecular level, but also identifying innovative and intelligent ways to interfere with them in order to halt infections at their source.
At the heart of the Infection Dynamics Lab lies our central goal: to unravel the fundamental nature of how human cells are colonized by pathogens. This area of research is particularly intriguing because the relationship between host and pathogen is one of the oldest and most persistent forms of parasitism in nature, which remains largely underexplored yet.
We are particularly focused on understanding how pathogens bypass the human immune system and gain entry into host cells, as well as how they manipulate cellular machinery to their advantage. By investigating these processes in detail, often examining them at single-cell level, we hope to uncover critical insights into the behavior of human pathogens. Through advanced imaging techniques, we can track the behavior of individual pathogen as they invade and manipulate their host cells, providing a deeper understanding of the infection process.
Ultimately, the Infection Dynamics Lab is driven by a commitment to understanding the intricacies of host-pathogen interactions at the molecular level and using that knowledge to pioneer new treatments that could transform the way we approach infectious diseases.
We are equipped with the highest standards for performing infection experiments under safe conditions. Our Biosafety Level-3 (BSL3) bio-containament facilities are a gold standard worldwide. We have the latest confocal...
