Andrea Garavaglia

Andrea started his academic career by graduating in Biotechnology from the University of Piemonte Orientale in 2021. He continued his education by pursuing a master's degree in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology at the University of Piemonte Orientale. As part of his master's degree, he was a visiting student at the City College of New York, hosted by Professor David Jeruzalmi. In October 2022, he began an internship in the Laboratory of Biochemistry and Structural Biology under the direction of Professors Menico Rizzi and Miggiano Riccardo. During this period, he acquired skills in high-yield expression and purification of proteins, as well as X-ray crystallography, to study the interaction between the replicative helicase and the helicase loader of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. 

Beside science, Andrea enjoys practicing physical activities such as judo and archery in his free time. He also has a great passion for nature, cooking, dogs, and photography.
